THE TAE HOOD INTERVIEW
What’s your story?
I was born and raised in Cleveland, OH, Growing up in a rough city taught me a lot at a young age. I always knew I was destined for more than what I was being exposed to. Believe it or not Bow Wow was one of the reasons I got into music lol. It just amazed me that someone my age was everywhere from making music. It made me feel like it was more of a realistic goal than a dream. Around 12-13 years old I really got into music and as I got older I began to do more research on the industry. I learned about PR and Marketing, which a lot of people don't know are so important to an artists success. I took some time away and last October I dropped "Hood Season" my first project as a rebranded artist. I've been networking like crazy, I have a solid team behind, and a marketing powerhouse pushing my music. It's truly a blessing to see how far I've come and know how much further I can go.
What does the local music community mean to you?
The local music is cool. There's definitely talent here, but I feel like we could be more supportive of each other. Too much hate going around when if we worked together the city could be a music powerhouse.
Who are some of your biggest inspirations, both locally and mainstream?
Doeboy, Q-money, Lil Durk, and Meek Mill.
What’s one thing about you that you think is misunderstood? What do people not know about you, or one thing you want people to know?
I've had people tell me that I'm changing. In all reality I'm just focused on getting to that next level in both my life and my career so I have to keep any distractions to a minimum.
Tell us about your most recently dropped project, or an upcoming project.
"H.O.O.D Ep" is the of my most recent project. It's an acronym for Hustlers Overcome Obstacles Daily. My two favorite songs are also my two most personal on the project. Dirt is more of a down song, which talks about betrayal and the pain that comes from that. Lucky is the complete opposite. It's more of an aggressive song.
Are there any artists you enjoy collaborating with the most? Are there any artists, local or mainstream, that you would love to collab with?
Ripp Flamez and LVfromCLE are my two favorite artists to collab with. Our friendship goes way beyond music. That's a tough one. There are a lot of people that I'd like to work with. My top 5 would have to be Meek Mill, Lil Durk, A Boogie, Future, and Drake.
What has been your favorite project you’ve released so far, or the one you’re most proud of?
I can't say I have a favorite. I like both of my projects equally, it really depends on the type of vibe you're going for. You guys should listen to both and let me know which you prefer. Lol.
What’s next for you?
More success. I'm just going to keep applying pressure. I'm aiming for global status.
